Cobie Donates $100,000 to BitBoy Crypto Lawsuit Defendant

Cobie has sent Atozy over $100,000 to fight a lawsuit from BitBoy Crypto.

The popular crypto personality and host of the Tik aukštyn podcast Cobie donated the six-figure sum to YouTuber Atozy to help him fight a “frivolous” lawsuit from Benjamin Armstrong, the crypto influencer better known as BitBoy Crypto.

According to Atozy, the lawsuit pertains to a nine-month-old YouTube video titled “This Youtuber Scams His Fans… BitBoy Crypto,” where he called Armstrong a “shady dirtbag” and a “scammer” for promoting a dubious crypto project called PAMP.

A snippet of the lawsuit revealed by Atozy in a YouTube video today shows that Armstrong is suing for “defamation, defamation per se, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, tortious interference with business relations or potential business relations, violation of uniform deceptive practices act, and violation of fair business practices act.” The lawsuit further claims that Armstrong had “sustained damages in excess of $75,000” resulting from Atozy’s alleged defamation.

In response to the lawsuit, Atozy paprašė his Twitter followers to help him fight the case by donating to his crowdfunding campaign. “I’m crowdfunding to help cover the insane costs of defending myself against this frivolous lawsuit,” he said in a Tuesday tweet storm, leaving his Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses for donations.

Cobie, who has donated considerable sums of crypto to various causes in the past, atsakė that he would send “100k or somethin” when he was at his computer. Soon after, a 100,000 USDC sandoris from crypto exchange FTX to Atozy’s wallet came through, and Cobie patvirtino that he had sent the money.

Armstrong runs BitBoy Crypto, the largest crypto YouTube channel with over 1.44 million subscribers, where he promotes questionable crypto projects that often fail or severely underperform the market. In a CNBC interviu this month, Armstrong said that he regretted taking money from crypto companies to promote their products.
