The knockoffs of top Ethereum projects such as CryptoPunks and Pudgy Penguins were quite common early in the growth of Solana’s NFT ecosystem. Now, Ethereum has the exact copy of the latest Solana NFT project, Okay Bears. Some Crypto enthusiasts who are aware of the event it as a “full circle” moment for Solana.
Launched earlier today, Not Okay Bears is an Ethereum-based NFT picture project that contains 10,000 cartoonish bear illustrations that possess various randomized traits. The imagery is exactly similar for the reason that it copies the artwork from Solana-based Okay Bears. The artwork is completely similar – it has just been reversed, and the bears are facing left instead of right.
Despite all that, it has proved to be a success. This morning the 10,000 NFT were all quickly minted at 0.02 ETH (about $41) each, excluding the first 1,000 of them, which were free to mint.
A Crypto charity platform reveals in a tweet that the anonymous creators of the NFT have donated approx. 20% of the Not Okay Bears mint funds (35.8 ETH, or $73,000) to the Mental Health Impact Index Fund
Now, they have shifted to secondary marketplaces such as OpenSea, where the sales are happening in droves as the floor prices are increasing rapidly. At the time of writing, the Not Okay Bears start at around 0.1 ETH (about $200), or five times the original mint cost. The secondary trading is worth around $930,000, reveals data from OpenSea.
It is also worth noting that the cost of Okay Bears NFT on Solana is still a fraction of it. Magic Eden, the cheapest available on the leading Solana marketplace, is listed for $13,400 or 243 SOL.
