At least 50 passengers on a train in India died Friday when it collided with another train in the state of Odisha, in Eastern India, according to local officials, leaving at least 350 people injured.

The incident occurred when a passenger train line called the Coromandel Express derailed just after 7:00 p.m. local time, leaving rail cars on the track where another passenger train, the Howrah Superfast Express, collided into them, Indian news channel NDTV reported.

Odisha Secretary Chief Pradeep Jena said in a press conference roughly 350 passengers on those trains were taken to nearby hospitals, the Times of India pranešta.

In a statement on Twitter, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sakė rescue operations at the wreck are underway and those injured are being given “all possible assistance.”

India’s Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted rescue teams, including Indian government and Air Force personnel have been mobilized, saying: “Will take all hands required for the rescue ops.”
